Asphalt Plant Lab Technician (Richmond, VA)
A&A Contractors is opening up a New Asphalt Plant in Chester, VA (Rt. 10 & I-95) and is looking for a VDOT Certified Asphalt Lab Technician. This is a Full Time Salaried Position.
Responsibilities: ? Perform VDOT Asphalt Mix Design, sample testing, certifying lab results to VDOT and monitoring of our asphalt plant production.
? Perform plant inspections of our plant and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with project asphalt specifications, VDOT and Federal specifications.
? Observe job site testing and perform comparative testing with independent testing agencies.
? Communicate with customers, VDOT testing laboratories, and plant supervisor in regards to asphalt mix.
? Perform visual inspection assessments of jobsite conditions, solutions, and recommendations to correct problems if they occur.
? Monitor test report data and plant records to help determine specification compliance in accordance with project, Federal and State specifications.
? Perform all VDOT testing procedures and evaluations and test data submissions to VDOT.
? Supports Sales and Production departments in resolving quality-based customer needs and complaints.
? Participates in the analysis of customer claims and supports the investigation of the causes linked to process or production conditions
Required Skills & Certifications: ? VDOT Plant and Field Level I, Level II and Asphalt Plant Mix Design Certifications.
? Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
? Must be computer literate in Windows, Excel, Adobe, and MS Office. Knowledge of other software programs and computer functionality a plus
? Excellent data entry skills and ability to multi-task under pressure
? Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.
? Past Experience ? 2 years minimum.
