compensation: $40,000.00 annual
REPORTS TO: Landscape Coordinator and/or Owner of Ironbridge Nursery
FULL TIME POSITION -- Only qualified individuals need to apply. Must have a valid VA driver's license is required & 2 years minimum commercial landscaping experience in a supervisory position.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Direct and supervises the day to day operations of the commercial landscape division. Perform duties under the general supervision the Landscape Coordinator. Receives assignments through general outlines of work to be accomplished together with general target dates and general statements of objectives. Plans and develops own methods of accomplishment. Completed work receives a general review for accomplishment of objectives and conformance.
Looking for person with a valid VA driver's license and can pass government/FBI and military background checks for the purpose of landscaping on military installations, schools & daycare facilities. Need to have extensive plant material knowledge and planting procedures (type, placement, zone etc). Need to be able to help organize materials & supplies to prepare for daily jobs. Some Saturdays / holidays required depending on work load. Need to be able to work with scaled plans for placement of plant materials on job-site.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Has direct supervision responsibility for all aspects required in support of accomplishing the landscape mission and goals.
2. Related work experience required 2-5 years' experience in commercial planting installation supervision.
3. Need to be able to work with scaled plans for placement of plant materials on job-site.
Must have extensive plant material knowledge and planting procedures
4. Trains, supervises & directs all the personnel in the Commercial Landscape division
5. Maintains inventory of supplies to render excellent and timely service
6. Supervises equipment maintenance requirements
7. Applies a broad knowledge of current landscaping techniques, methods and concepts
8. Coordinates and schedules all job assignments of the several work crews
9. Makes recommendations for revision to operations and procedures as may be necessary
10. Prepares and maintains report of hours worked by individual crew members by job on a daily basis & turn in to Landscape Coordinator at end of work day and as well all delivery tickets/invoices.
11. Identifies and coordinates division needs.
12. Must communicate -- report to Landscape Coordinator -- the day's activities/work performed & what work needs to be performed to complete job.
13. Must report any issues with employee's performance. Be able to recommend a resolution to issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent training
Job requires stooping, bending, and crawling as needed to assist crew plus working in adverse weather conditions
Need to be able to work with scaled plans for placement of plant materials on job-site.
Must be able to lift/carry 100 lbs
Needs to be able to pass government/FBI back ground check
Must be able to operate heavy equipment
Must be able to drive box truck/dump truck
