Alternatively, please feel free to call me on WORK Ph: 410-777-xxxx Ext xxxx3, MOBILE: 804-588-xxxx Job Description: Perform Line Technician Services Routine Inspections/Maintenance System Diagnostics Full Automotive Troubleshooting and Testing Use a computer to utilize factory software to send service details to service advisors Continuously expanding knowledge for new technologies and practice Perform road test for BMW certifications Work on a service team with service advisors and communicate about vehicle repairs needed Work Environment: This BMW Dealship is part of Asbury Group. They have 13 techs and looking to hire at least 4 to 5 more this year. Most of the techs have workstations called bays where they service vehicles. Qualifications: This site is looking for individuals who have a positive attitude, work hard, team oriented and willing to stay late to get the jobs done. In addition they are looking for individuals who can read and follow instructions and who are driven to learn and perform well - experience level can be beginner to imtermediate, but prefers at least 4 to 5 years experience servicing Europen brands such as Volo, Audi, VW, Mercedes, Jaguar and LandRover. BMW Certification Level's 1-2-3 or 4 a Plus! BMW Experience a plus Previous European Automotive Technician Experience a plus Must Have Tools Great Mechanical & Electrical Skills Be able to use computers to utilize factory software Must be able to pass pre-employments screens (Background & Drugs) Have a valid driver's license Performance Expectations: They work Mon thru Fri 8 am to 5 pm and Tues- Sat 11 am to 8 pm Expected to arrive on time every day. Calling out and being late is not highly tolerated. Since compensation is a flat rate, efficiency is very impoirtant as each tech has scores that come out at the end of each month indicating whether or not they were efficient. If a tech is not efficient then the service manager will ask what additional help is needed. If the score does not improve the next month, then the tech gets a final verbal and written warming. The last sub-bar score can result in termination or additional training. This will be a case by case bases. The two things that will get a tech fired are lying and stealing for customers. Interview Information: Send resume to Service Manager Robert Calvaneso and he will set day in next 24-48 hours for them to come in. Robert is always in the office and will make himself available as long as qualified resumes are sent over. If the interview goes well, they will give them an application which they'll run a BG and Drivers check on. That takes a few days, depending where they have lived. Robert will make the final determination. During the interview Robert will ask questions about candidates resumes and skills, about what they do best and what is the biggest challenge, how you would like to be supervisored and more. Lying during an interview is a disqualifer in addition to having experience only at Pep Boys, Jiffy Lube, Grease Monkey or other independent shops such as. Additional Compensation: They will get paid an hourly rate for the first 90 days with 45 hours gauranteed work (as long as they're there). After the 90 days, they should be able to perform any tasks within the alloted time and they pay a Flat Rate (Meaning they get paid x amount to perform a job which should take 2 hours. However, if it takes 3 hours, they still get paid the same amount.) There are also Production and csi bonuses, vacation and holiday pay. Techs will receive 7 PTO days their 1st year, BMW will contribute to their 401K's after 90 days and they will learn about other benefits more in depth near their 90 day mark. Additional Information: Technicians required to have their own hand tools. All computer diagnostic and specialty tooks are provided. BMW provided a tool box for each worker and clean tools and work area. There is opportunity, if a person is capable and has the desire, to attend factory sponsored training classes and gain various levels BMW certifications. Candidates MUST have a clean driving record and background. The best employee at this site has a great attitude toward the job, the company and co-workers. That employee is very team oriented as he will stop what he is doing to help others (even though everyone is paid a flat rate). The employee does his work and does not stand around chatting with others waiting time. Also, the employee is not afraid to stay late to complete jobs if necessary. An average employee is on time, hard working, does the jobs, cares about quality, is under the radar and is a solid tech/individual. 1st Day the techs will shadow a tech to learn the lay of the land. 2nd Day will be online training which is paid. Afterwards, techs will be assignment smaller jobs until ability and skill level can be assessed.
