International Tax Specialist in Richmond, Virginia For Sale

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to join the global tax function of a U.S. based multinational with significant foreign operations.  This is a role which will offer the right candidate the chance to take ownership of a number of international tax matters (U.S. international tax, non-U.S. tax, transfer pricing, foreign tax credits and planning) reporting directly to the Global Tax Director.  The candidate must have significant technical and interpersonal skills, coupled with judgment and decision making abilities, as well as the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals.
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead U.S. international tax compliance:  Prepare and review Forms xxxx, xxxxs and xxxxs to ensure compliance with U.S. tax law, including Subpart F, foreign tax credits and earnings and profits calculations.  Improve processes to support this for the future.
Ensure compliance with cross-border transfer pricing requirements:  Prepare and review compliance with relevant tax law and regulations including proper documentation in connection with cross-border transfer pricing for intercompany transactions globally. Manage the execution of the Company?s global transfer pricing strategy through direct contact with business unit controllers. It may involve managing and optimizing outsourcing relationships with third party service providers.
Support Global Tax Director on tax audits and related matters: (income tax, transfer pricing, VAT and other) Assist with the preparation of tax authority information requests and liaising with tax authorities.
Provide input for the preparation of the Company?s international quarterly and annual tax provision: Work closely with Accounting for Income Taxes Manager to document APB 23 assertions, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances and the consequences of repatriating offshore earnings.
Assist in the implementation of global tax planning strategies to minimize cash and earnings impact of tax expense:  Work closely with the Global Tax Director and Senior Management to ensure coordination of tax consequences of operations and maintenance of international operational structuring.  Assists in the identification of key risks coming from international tax operations, compliance and reporting.
 
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 5 to 7+ years corporate tax experience in industry and/or public accounting firm
Technical knowledge of and experience with international taxation of U.S. multinational entities
Experience with Subpart F, transfer pricing and foreign tax credits
Experience with software programs such as SAP and ONESOURCE
CPA or MST, a plus
